Ok, it's the 1^st night of xmas break. Not really the 1^st night but the 1^st free-ish night in a really long time. No planning needing to be done, no bags needing to be made.

Sort of sitting around. One of the kids is unwell. Mom is working mom-like magic…he actually asked for her to lay down with him. Looks like the Tylenol is kicking in. Working this week on stopping living on the verge. I think that I know that I have a lot of 'potential' I know that I also live my life with way too much fear. I really dislike that I have that whole sword of Damocles thing , I have that consistent aww….what did I forget thing. Usually it has helped me…but I really dislike the whole repetitive paranoia…oh yeah and did I mention OCD thing.

A lot of my wanting to write has come from @hotdogsladies as well as @mightymur. Who also both seem to be (or at least really seem to) be really involved parents.

Merlin has on more than one occasion advocating the make your fingers do the clickey – clackey other than that nothing else happens. So I am trying to do same. I also am breaking down and getting the iphone 4s. Yes…I am becoming that lemming. Just more than a little bummed that I am only able to get in on the 2 gig data plan. I wonder how much data that siri lady actually uses.

I am feeling MORE THAN A LITTLE IMPOSED with the new department that I am going into. What I am really trying to get stuck in my head is that I was recruited. It's not that I do not feel that I am capable…more that I am looking at it as someone saw my skill set and thinks that they can do something with it. So…while I feel that I am a little out of my element I have to keep reminding myself that someone wants me there and that my interview was about 3 ½ minutes.

Ok, I know to be successful at trying to write you actually have to write stuff. So here goes the attempted re re boot of trying to write.

I married a teacher, knew that when I got into it...so every trimester I am flying solo for two weeks.
We are one week down.

So today is Saturday and I get to run the boys solo.

Breakfast, snacks, intellectual stimulation, play, wearing them out down and oh did i mention get stuff done.

OK, it's been a while since I took more than a brief minute to blow off steam with this.

At this time I am really trying to be accepting that I do not have the children that I want and that I have the children that I have.

I know that they both have their strengths and weaknesses BUT I mean really -- how can they be so far apart at the same time.

Also why does being @ #home seem to be such a trigger.

I know that kids need the boundaries so it's my #job to keep up on it. But wow.

Good thing I am keeping up on those ECE units. Still having the regular job gives me the opportunity to at least take some time to think of better plans to utilize as well as the mental break from those kind of issues to handle OTHER kind of issues

It's weird how easy it is (or at the time of writing this) to have slipped back into the groove of working.
Now I need to build on that success and add to it.
Keeping to the #normal work week is expected to be the hardest part.
Now tomorrow is also the trick to see if I can stretch a workout into that part of the day.
It's still much more fun to work than not work.
Also working on keeping the social life working. That is definitely a work in progress.

Wow, a week and a half under my belt and I thought that I would have forgotten how to some of this stuff. It really is a little like riding a bike. You do not forget a lot...just need a refresher course.

I know at least a lot of what I do not know, so I have that going for me. I am still a big proponent of the fake it till you make it plan. I know that it will come to a head at a certain point when my confidence level out paces my skill set. It just has not happened yet.

Oh yeah, did I mention that I damn near cried when I pulled into the 7-11 to get a soda on the way home last week. And do not get me started on being in a position to sign my last UI check claim form this week.

That does not make the transitions any more or less easy on anyone involved.

I know that as this is what I have been trained to do and that it's just a matter of getting it that does not make the awkward and gingerly taking of steps any more easier.

Transitions and moving forward kicking and screaming

Transitions are by the very nature of the word are hard. They also are a solid part of life.

Today I am taking a giant leap into a huge transition. I am getting back into the workforce after a almost twenty month hiatus. Admitted the last few months also were not really work.

Side note if you want a really cool website to waste time with use wolframalpha.com. It will tell you how long it has been since a specific date.

In that time thunder has really come into his own. Today I am really helping him make a new transition of his own. He's been home with me since May 2009 and today, or by the time this posts, will be either a blubbering mess or on his way to being one of the most awesome kick butt almost 3 year olds in the world.

I'll know more and have more as the day goes on. I am now working to get back up again and catch up on what I've missed since 2009.

Ok, taking the time to actually put some thought into this. AT&T was actually working well for me until they were not. I had no idea that there was a problem first until my dad called me to let me know that my phone was not working. Then they seemed to get out lickety split. I know great descriptor and all……but they got out and got everything working back to normal.

Then the rain came AND that is when the trouble started. The phone went away and the DSL slooooooooowed way the heck down to the point of well checking email over the web was impossible and only over mobile does it seem to work a little better.

So it appears that time-warner is in my near to immediate future. They have a REALLY good package. Just need to find out if they have a DVR included or not. If so what is the hit for that. Not that dish network has been bad to me. Just a few issues with the DVR and it causing problems. But other than that I have really liked them. I think that it's a good thing…just do not want to get horribly screwed.

Side note – it's 20 a month JUST to get the little box…..hopefully can get some information as to what the JUST internet and phone is so I can BLOW OFF AT&T for good.

Ahhh….was right does feel good to put some time into a thought to make it sound more than something nonsensical. Who knew that rational thought was such a calming effect.

OK, while being out of work has not been a lot of fun I think that my learning experience of being a stay at home dad can be re-purposed to at least a AA in early child hood education.

Need to find a way to knock out quickly the last six units and then get at least a call back from somewhere.

The thing that I would have to do / worry about is the pay vs what it would cost to have thunder there.

Laughing still that I got yelled at for doing all the laundry in one day. Also that I have a interview with a company that would be great to work for but I do not think that I could anywhere come close to my obligations with what I believe they would offer.

So I am planning on asking for a better spot and put the onus of rejection on them. It sounds awesome in my head at least. It also may lead to good things for me and my family.

I also know and have rationalized in my head that it's almost super duper crunch time. And that I really have to get grinding to get stuff accomplished. Trying to talk up some of the little skills that I have as well as work to beat some others into shape.

Hoping that it still works out for the best. I know what the worst looks like. Not in that zip code or county but ..... Well let's not go there.

Ok, two interviews in two weeks. Feel good about that.
Did not get to do much but be a good dad last week. Not that that was not a blast but I did sleep well Friday night.
This week so far has been awesomely productive. Thunder got a good class yesterday, lightning was back in the saddle yesterday.
Got to work it out this am and Thunder is congregating well with age appropriate peers.
Need to get costumes taken care of today, should not be a problem at all.

Also trying to check out the cub scouts tonight. Will see if they can handle thunder and lightning as a team.
Thursday does seem to only be the slightly open day.

Ok have called in favors and have coverage for thunder for Monday. Fortunately it's there. Unfortunately it's one of those when you mess up on a air check and call it out as Marcel Marceu's new album.

I feel like it's one of those you can only do once. So I am hoping for good things. Also just from random observation I really do not move well enough to be in a Zumba class. Combat blast - totally there.

If god things do happen then there is a whole new world to deal with. Which I must say I am more than a lot nervous about. It is one of those I knew would happen things but..........
Anywho that is literally the cart ahead of the horse.

So still plugging and chugging here with a little bit of light at the end of the tunnel. At least I am letting the magic of compound interest work for me instead of against me.

I have a 2nd gen iPhone and I am trying to hak it into a iPod touch to load up with games for a 7 year old. Also I am really interested in getting a camera into his hands so I can see things the way he does.

This phone was activated at some point and then deactivated. I do not have a sim card for it (sold my soul to verizon a while ago) and have no way to get it beyond the emergency calls only screen.

If I could get it active I know that I would have to downgrade it way below iOS 4 due to the specs of that model.
